Life is beset with good and bad, health and disease. No living being is free from health problem at one time or other. Medical science can diagnose the disease only when it occurs. It is only astrology and palmistry that can warn about a pending disease. The life of a person is governed by the planetary influences which can be read from the horoscope of a person.

Medical Astrology provide us an indication as to whether the planetary influences at the time of an illness are likely to be advantageous or disadvantageous to the sufferer. A medical Astrologer may consider the following factors while studying a chart with respect to disease;

  1. Likely timing (onset) of the particular disease,
  2. Likely diagnosis (nature) of the disease,
  3. Probable eventual outcome of the disease and
  4. Additional means that might be employed by a physician to counteract the disease and thus facilitate the restoration of the patient’s health.

The effect of planets on each sign, house and on each other plays an important role on the health in general and on particular organs. This effect will be felt during particular Dasha, Antardasha of concerned planets in the life of a person. Some chronic or permanent disabilities occur in accordance with the placement of malefic planets in adverse positions. Occasional physical disabilities and disturbances occur due to the astrological factors in time. The signs, the planets and the houses considered from moon sign have their own significance pertaining to certain organs. To study the health aspect the significance of signs, houses and the planets should be super imposed and synchronized in an effective way.

Significance of Houses in Medical Astrology:

Every house has its own special meaning in medical astrology. It is important to consider the significations of the various houses of the horoscope as relevant to medical astrology. It may be noted that the right half of the body is represented by houses 1 to 7 and the left half by houses 7 to 12 of the horoscope.

5thHouse:  Heart, left thighs, upper abdomen and its viscera, viz., stomach, liver, gall bladder, spleen, pancreas, mind, pregnancy, romantic issues and offspring, tendency towards risk taking.

6thHouse: Ill-health, injury, wounds, operation, madness, T.B., tumours, diseases of the eye, small intestine, appendix, kidney, upper ureter, small pox, left (leg, ankle, feet, knee) diseases, poison, peptic ulcers, doctors, nurses and dentists, personal hygiene, meals, day to day habits.

Significance of Planets in Medical Astrology:

In medical astrology, each of the planets provide their own unique influence towards the outcome of an illness, depending on the location of the planet in the horoscope. The significations of various planets as appropriate to medical astrology are:

Significance of Rashis in Medical Astrology:

Rashis(Signs) represent the twelve large systems in the body of man, starting with Aries which represents the head, all through the sign of Pisces, ruling the feet. The rashis that contain the planets, either by birth or through progressed horoscopes, will stand out, or will most probably be the sources of illness.

For each rashi a special tissue salt exists, these are the building materials for human body, the substances through the combination of which tissues, organs, systems of organs, and finally the entire body are built.
